My family and I will take a short tip in Utah next month. We will start from Salt Lake City then drive to Vegas. Here is our schedule: Day 1- visit Salt Lake City and nearby. Then drive towards Zion in the evening. Day 2 - Zion for the day, Leaving for Vegas at night. Day 3 - Vegas, leaving for home in the evening. My question is, which town/hotel we should stop and stay on Day 1? Many people on yahoo suggested Springdale but it seems a bit further. Is Mount Carmel a good town to stay? Is it far from Zion? Which hotel there is better in quality-wise? Any other suggestion?
